Introduction: Today, with the increasing technology and the universalization of the Internet in this century, the phenomenon of addiction to computer games in different groups, especially children with learning disabilities, is undeniable due to their greater vulnerability, so the present study It was conducted to determine the effectiveness of doll play therapy combined with psychodrama on the addiction to computer games of children with learning disabilities.
Methods: The present study was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group and a two-month follow-up period. The studied population included all the male students in the second year of primary school with learning disabilities who were referred to the Learning Disability Center in Birjand City in the academic year of 2021-2022; 30 people were selected by purposeful sampling and were randomly replaced in two experimental and control groups. The data collection tool included Wang and Cheng's (2002) computer game addiction questionnaire. The intervention for the experimental group was held in 8 sessions of 45 minutes twice a week, and the control group was placed on the waiting list. The variance analysis method with repeated measurements and SPSS version 24 software were used to analyze the data.
Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference between the mean scores of computer game addiction in the pre-test, post-test, and follow-up stages, while there was no significant difference between the mean scores in the post-test and follow-up stages, which indicates the stability of the effectiveness. intervention (p>0.01). The results of the effect size showed that 18.2% of the individual differences in computer game addiction were caused by doll play therapy training combined with psychodrama.
Conclusion: Puppet play therapy combined with psychodrama was effective in reducing the addiction to computer games of children with learning disabilities, so it can be said that doll play therapy combined with psychodrama can be used as a treatment method in reducing the addiction to computer games of these children.
