Introduction: Women with postpartum depression have problems such as anxiety, depression and emotion regulation that cognitive rehabilitation training can be effective in them. As a result, this research aimed to investigate the effect of cognitive rehabilitation training on anxiety, depression and emotion regulation in women with postpartum depression.
Methods: Present study was a semi-experimental with a pre-test and post-test design with a test and control groups. Research population was included all women with postpartum depression that referring to health care centers of Bushehr city in 2017 year that 40 person were selected by available sampling method and randomly divided into two equal groups. The test group 10 sessions of 45 minutes trained by cognitive rehabilitation. Groups were evaluated in terms of anxiety, depression and emotion regulation in pre-test and post-test stages. The data were analyzed with using of SPSS-19 software and by multivariate analysis of covariance method.
Results: The results showed that cognitive rehabilitation training significantly led to decrease anxiety and depression and increase emotion regulation in women with postpartum depression (P<0/001).
Conclusions: The results indicate the cognitive rehabilitation training on anxiety, depression and emotion regulation in women with postpartum depression, so it is suggested to counselors and therapists that use from the cognitive rehabilitation training method to improve these characteristics.
