Introduction: Divorced women face numerous social and psychological problems that affect their sense of life satisfaction. The present study investigated the mediating role of perceived stress in the relationship between feelings of security in social relationships and life satisfaction of divorced women in Birjand City.
Methods: The present study was a descriptive correlational study. The statistical population included all divorced women in Birjand City, from which 250 people who had a file with the Welfare Organization were selected using the convenience sampling method. To collect data, Cohen's perceived stress questionnaire, Diner's life satisfaction questionnaire, and Imani's sense of security in social relationships questionnaire were used. Structural equation modeling was used to investigate the role of the mediating variable using AMOS version 26 software.
Results: The study's results showed a significant relationship between perceived stress and sense of security in social relationships and the life satisfaction of divorced women in Birjand city. Also, the findings from the structural equation model showed that the relationship between sense of social security and life satisfaction can be mediated by perceived stress.
Conclusion: It can be said that sense of security in social relationships and perceived stress can play a role in the life satisfaction of divorced women. Therefore, it is recommended that all social health policymakers and mental health professionals help increase life satisfaction in divorced women by creating a safe social environment and reducing stress, so that we can see an improvement in their mental health.
