Introduction: Anxiety due to chemotherapy is the most common complication in patients who have cancer. This study has been done to design evidence-based nursing care instruction for the anxiety of the patients suffering from chemotherapy.
Methods: This study is a developmental study method in the chemotherapy ward of the Baqiyatallah (A.J) Hospital. Anxiety nursing care instruction was designed based on the Stetler Model with an evidence-based approach. The opinions of 10 faculty members in selected universities were applied in three stages to evaluate the validity of the Delphi method. And the applicability of the guidelines was also assessed by interviewing eight relevant clinical experts.
Results: This study is an evidence-based instruction of anxiety due to chemotherapy. These can be used as a clinical guide for taking care of the patients undergoing chemotherapy based on the most valid scientific texts with an evidence-based approach.
Conclusions: Designing and formulating nursing care instructions with an evidence-based approach in patients undergoing chemotherapy will enable higher utilization of nurses, access to up-to-date information, and ultimately increase the quality of nursing care. Also, part of the need for clinical nurses to deal with anxiety in these patients is being met.
