The data collection tools included Parandin's social adequacy questionnaires (2015) and Dartaj's academic performance (2015). The intervention group underwent group intervention in 10 face-to-face sessions of 60 minutes for two months, and the control group received the normal intervention. In order to analyze the data, SPSS version 16 software and the analysis of variance test with repeated measurements between groups were used in compliance with the statistical assumptions.
Results: The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups regarding social competence and academic performance. The results of the analysis of averages showed that the average of the experimental group was higher than the average of the control group in terms of social competence and academic performance; therefore, it can be said that active memory training increased the social competence and academic performance of students(P<0/01).
